President's Message
The Smithtown Teachers’ Association has been recognized by the State of
New York as the exclusive bargaining agent for all Smithtown teachers
since 1967. We presently represent approximately 900 staff members
including teachers, teacher assistants, educational sign language
interpreters and academic intervention tutors of Smithtown in collective
bargaining and all matters that pertain to the collective bargaining
agreement. Furthermore, it is our efforts that guarantee the teachers a
voice in matters of professional concern within our District, which
distinguishes the STA as a unique professional union. |
